Capital Spirit shown brightly at the Anacostia Community Boathouse throughout the pandemic with CRC offering the only wide-scale sculling programs. Members, old and new, learned new water skills, made new friends, and found much-needed stress release in impossibly skinny boats. Mothers and sons, fathers and daughters, married couples bonded in doubles; the over 21 crowd learned cocktail magic virtually with The Alibi; the Juniors program continued to expand our sport with the next generation; and our Adaptive Athletes adapted to working out in their living rooms while watching computer screens for guidance.

With vaccination rates rising in early summer, our sweep rowers made a late, but none-the-less triumphant return to the water with expanded membership in all programs. And while all of our programs -- Competitive, Masters, CARP, and Juniors -- experienced exceptional successes at regattas, most meaningful our members are the new and renewed friendships and the camaraderie of rowing, competing, and celebrating together as One Capital!

It hasn't always been easy, but with a dedicated group of volunteers, we've overcome the challenged presented and blazed across every goal line we set. Please help us continue these successes for 2022, and we'll see you on the water!
