$50 towards $250

I've been involved with sports since I was a little kid. Whether it was ice hockey, soccer, softball, or triathlon, I've always been blessed with athletics. However, some kids aren't allowed access to many opportunities to compete because of financial concerns. Statistics show that kids who participate in high school sports are much less likely to get into trouble with the law and are better students. The benefits also extend past the high school years. High school sports develop character, and participants are found in later years to have higher self-esteem, be better leaders, and are more philanthropic - both with their time and money - than those who did not play sports in high school. The Capital Juniors program has been instrumental in granting many kids access to these opportunities that they might otherwise have missed out on.

I recently started rowing with Capital Juniors, and I want to ensure that other DC-area students have the same chance to experience rowing and to make their own memories. To make rowing safe, affordable, and accessible to as many DC-area students as possible, we're raising money to support Capital Juniors outreach and operational expenses. This fundraiser leads up to our annual Ergathon, an event where my team will collectively row 250,000 meters. That's how dedicated we are to the team!

Please help kids like me get on the water and earn their seat in the boat. By supporting Capital Juniors, you'll ensure more DC-area students are able to join a team that emphasizes teamwork, personal accomplishments, fitness, and friendship. Go Capital!

Any donation will go a long way to helping me meet my 2018 fundraising goal.
