In keeping with its proud tradition of community involvement, Capital Rowing Club started the Capital Adaptive Rowing Program in 2009. The Program's focus is introducing adaptive athletes to recreational and competitive rowing in sculling boats.

Capital Adaptive has been working closely with its partners – the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Rehabilitation Hospital, and the U.S. Olympic Committee Paralympic Sport Program– to build a program to serve the Washington area's population of disabled military veterans and civilians. In a very short amount of time, we are able to get our athletes on the water to enjoy the rehabilitative benefits of rowing.
